Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

AquariumLog ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal aquarium tracking application designed to help fishkeepers log water tests, care activities and livestock inventory. Your privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what data the app does and does not handle.

The short version: AquariumLog does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

AquariumLog does not collect any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number, account credentials)
• Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, advertising ID)
• Location data (GPS, IP-based, Wi-Fi-based)
• Contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, camera, or health data
• Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry of any kind
• Financial information or payment data

3. Data Stored on Your Device

The following information is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it:

• Aquarium records: name, type, capacity, setup date, notes, icon
• Water test records: pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, temperature, salinity, date, notes
• Care log entries: type, date, water-change volume, food type, notes
• Fish/plant inventory: name, species, date added, status, notes

You may export this data as a JSON file at any time via the in-app Settings screen. Exporting is fully under your control.

4. Third-Party Services

AquariumLog does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, advertising networks, or cloud services. The app makes zero network requests. There are no third parties involved in the operation of the app.

5. Data Security

Because all data is stored exclusively on your device, security relies on the protections provided by iOS — including device passcode, Touch ID, Face ID, and full-disk encryption. We never receive your data, so we cannot lose it on your behalf.

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time by:

• Removing individual aquariums, water tests, care logs or fish entries from within the app
• Uninstalling AquariumLog — this permanently deletes all locally stored aquarium data

7. Children's Privacy

AquariumLog does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Because the app does not collect any personal data from any user, it is safe for use by family members of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the app. The "Effective Date" above will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
