BMICalc Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 18, 2026 · Version 1.0

1. Introduction

BMICalc ("the App", "we", "our") is a body mass index calculator and tracker built with privacy as a core design principle. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and, more importantly, what it does not collect.

BMICalc is designed to work fully offline. It does not require an account, does not communicate with any server we operate, and does not contain third‑party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Specifically, BMICalc does not:

3. Data Stored on Your Device

To provide its core features, BMICalc stores the following data locally on your iPhone only:

This data never leaves your device. It is stored using standard iOS local storage APIs (UserDefaults and the App's sandboxed file system) and is included in your encrypted iCloud or local backups only if you have those backups enabled at the system level.

4. Notifications

You may optionally enable a daily reminder. When enabled, BMICalc schedules a local notification on your device using Apple's UNUserNotificationCenter. No remote push servers are involved. You can revoke notification permission at any time in Settings → Notifications → BMICalc.

5. Third‑Party Services

BMICalc does not integrate any third‑party SDK, analytics tool, advertising network, or backend service. The App only uses Apple's first‑party frameworks (SwiftUI, Foundation, Charts, UserNotifications).

6. Data Security

Because BMICalc keeps all data on your device, the security of that data is provided by iOS itself: device passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, file‑system encryption, and the App sandbox. We strongly recommend you keep iOS up to date and enable a device passcode.

7. Data Deletion

You can clear individual records inside the App's history view at any time. To erase all data created by BMICalc, simply uninstall the App — iOS will remove the entire App sandbox, including every record and setting.

8. Children's Privacy

BMICalc is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with information through the App, please contact us and we will confirm that no such data exists on our side (since we operate no servers).

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision took effect. Continued use of BMICalc after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
