CyberScan ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information when you use it on your Apple device.
CyberScan does not collect any personal data. The App operates entirely on your device. No information is transmitted to external servers, third parties, or any remote service.
CyberScan requires access to your device camera solely for real-time AI object and person scanning. The camera feed is processed locally on your device using Apple's Vision framework and a locally bundled CoreML model (MobileNetV2). No images, video, or any camera data are stored, uploaded, or shared outside the App.
What face data is collected: CyberScan does not capture or store any face images or photographs. When the camera detects a person, Apple's Vision framework (running entirely on-device) extracts geometric measurements from the live camera frame — specifically the face bounding box dimensions and facial landmark coordinates (jaw contour, eye positions, lip positions). These are transient, in-memory values only; they are never written to disk, never transmitted, and discarded immediately after the on-screen result is computed.
How face data is used: The extracted geometric measurements are used solely to compute and display three on-screen estimates in real time: (1) apparent gender (Male / Female, derived from jaw-width-to-face-width ratio and face aspect ratio), (2) approximate age range (derived from relative face-box area), and (3) a facial symmetry score (derived from left/right eye vertical alignment and face aspect ratio vs. the golden ratio). These results serve as a fun, informational scan feature and are not intended to be medically or legally accurate.
Third-party sharing: Face data is never sent to, shared with, or processed by any third party. All analysis is performed entirely on-device using Apple's native Vision framework (VNDetectFaceRectanglesRequest, VNDetectFaceLandmarksRequest). CyberScan does not use any external or third-party AI service.
Storage and retention: Raw camera frames and face images are never stored. The only locally saved output is the inferred scan result (gender label, estimated age number, symmetry score integer) stored in the App's scan history (iOS UserDefaults, device-local only). No biometric identifiers, face templates, or face embeddings are retained at any point.
The App saves your last 20 scan records (including object/person detection results) locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time from within the App by swiping individual records.
All artificial intelligence and machine learning features in CyberScan operate entirely on your device. Object detection uses Apple's Vision framework combined with a locally bundled MobileNetV2 CoreML model. Face analysis uses Apple's native VNDetectFaceRectanglesRequest and VNDetectFaceLandmarksRequest. No data is sent to any external AI service, cloud API, or remote server. CyberScan does not have network access entitlements and is architecturally incapable of transmitting any data.
CyberScan does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, social media SDKs, or AI APIs. There is no external data transmission of any kind. The App does not request network access and operates fully offline.
CyberScan does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. As the App does not collect any personal data, it is safe for all age groups.
All scan data remains on your device and is subject to iOS device security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). The developer has no access to any data on your device.
Since no personal data is collected or stored by the developer, there is no data to access, correct, or delete on our end. To remove locally saved scan history, use the delete feature within the App or uninstall the App entirely.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
