1. Introduction

Welcome to PianoKeys ("we", "our", "the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how PianoKeys handles information when you use our iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy — and the simplest way we do that is by not collecting any personal data at all.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

PianoKeys does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email address, or contact information.
• We do not access your location.
• We do not access your microphone or camera.
• We do not collect usage analytics or crash reports via third-party services.
• We do not use advertising identifiers or tracking technologies.
• We do not sync data to any server or cloud service.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

PianoKeys stores the following data locally on your device only, using Apple's UserDefaults:

• Practice Records — A log of chords you have played, including the chord symbol and timestamp. Used to calculate today's session count, all-time total, and top-5 chord ranking.
• UI Preferences — Selected chord category (major/minor/seventh) and octave range setting.

This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to iCloud unless you have enabled iCloud backup for the device as a whole (this is a system-level backup, outside the App's control).

4. Audio Engine

PianoKeys generates piano sounds entirely on-device using Apple's AVAudioEngine framework. All audio synthesis happens locally in real time — no audio data is recorded, stored, or transmitted. The App uses AVAudioSession in playback mode only; microphone access is never requested.

5. Third-Party Services

PianoKeys does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or social frameworks. There are no third-party services that receive any data from this App.

6. Data Security

Because no data leaves your device, the primary security boundary is your device itself. We recommend using a device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to protect your iPhone. Deleting PianoKeys from your device will permanently remove all locally stored practice records.

7. Data Deletion

You can delete all practice records at any time from within the App (Settings → Clear All Records). Alternatively, deleting the App from your iPhone will permanently erase all associated data.

8. Children's Privacy

PianoKeys does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Since the App collects no personal data from anyone, it is safe for users of all ages.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Effective Date" below. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
