SoundMeter does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:

We do not collect location data
We do not use analytics or tracking tools
We do not use cookies or similar technologies
We do not have user accounts or registration
We do not transmit any data over the internet

Microphone Access

SoundMeter requires access to your device's microphone solely to measure ambient sound levels in real time. This is essential for the App's core functionality as a decibel meter.

Important:

Audio from the microphone is processed entirely on your device in real time
No audio is recorded, stored, or saved to files
No audio data is transmitted to any server or third party
Audio processing stops immediately when you stop a measurement or close the App
Only numerical sound level values (decibel readings) are derived from the audio and saved locally as measurement records

Local Data Storage

Measurement history (decibel readings, timestamps, and labels) is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. This data:

Never leaves your device
Is not synced to any cloud service
Can be deleted at any time through the App's settings
Is removed when you uninstall the App

Third-Party Services

SoundMeter does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or cloud services.

Children's Privacy

SoundMeter does not knowingly collect any information from children. The App does not collect information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date.
