Welcome to ClipVideo ("we", "our", or "us"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

ClipVideo is a video-based intensive learning tool that allows you to import videos, create study segments, take notes, and track your learning progress. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:

• No personal information - We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any identifiable information
• No account registration - The app does not require you to create an account or log in
• No analytics or tracking - We do not use any analytics SDKs or tracking technologies
• No advertising data - We do not serve ads or collect advertising identifiers
• No cloud storage - Your data is never transmitted to any server
• No financial data - We do not collect payment or financial information through the app
• No location data - We do not access or store your location
• No contacts data - We do not access your contacts

3. Data Stored on Your Device

All data generated by ClipVideo is stored locally on your device using the following methods:

3.1 SQLite Database

Your learning data is stored in a local SQLite database in your device's Documents directory, including:

• Video metadata (title, file path, duration, creation date)
• Study segments and bookmarks
• Notes and annotations
• Learning progress and statistics

3.2 Local Files

Imported videos and generated thumbnails are stored in your device's Documents directory. These files remain on your device unless you delete them within the app.

3.3 User Defaults

App preferences such as language settings and appearance preferences are stored locally using UserDefaults.

4. Apple iCloud Backup

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your ClipVideo data may be included in your iCloud backup as part of your device's Documents directory. This is managed by Apple's iCloud service and is subject to Apple's privacy policies.

You can manage iCloud settings for your device in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage.

5. Permissions Used

ClipVideo requests the following system permissions:

You can grant or deny these permissions at any time in Settings > Privacy. Denying permissions will limit certain features but the app will continue to function with locally stored videos.

6. Third-Party Services

ClipVideo does not integrate with any third-party services. The app uses only Apple's built-in frameworks:

• AVFoundation / AVKit - For video playback
• PhotosUI - For photo library access
• SQLite3 - For local database storage
• SwiftUI / UIKit - For user interface
• Charts - For learning statistics visualization

No third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or external services are used.

7. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

• All data is stored locally on your device using iOS's built-in sandbox protection
• The app does not transmit any data over the network
• iOS automatically encrypts data on devices with a passcode enabled
• No data is shared with or accessible to any third party

8. Data Deletion

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual videos - Remove any imported video and its associated data from within the app
• Delete all data - Uninstalling the app will remove all data stored by ClipVideo from your device
• Clear cache - Thumbnails and temporary files can be cleared from app settings

Since no data is stored on any server, deletion is immediate and complete once performed on your device.

9. Children's Privacy

ClipVideo is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app does not collect any personal information and requires no account registration, it is safe for use by children under parental supervision.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
